Hee, funny title for this post isn't it?
But anyway, here are some photos I have snapped on the first day. Touched down at 8am, and found to my dismay, that I was unable to check in.
After hanging around the lobby
for about half an hour or so, I decided to venture out for a walk. Little did I know,
the direction I have decided on, led me to King's Cross, a supposed notorious nightlife area. I stopped at King's Cross Centre to chill at the Nail Spa, while having
my manicure and
pedicure done. Love the colours!
I would liken the area to North Bridge in Perth. The street was lined with Al Fresco bars and restaurants, and I do see the usual enticing signs that call out for in-house "Peep Shows"
from the sleazy bars. Nothing has really shaken me that much except for a mad freak who
showed some obscene gestures. But he was really mad, and had annoyed other passer-bys just as much.
I got 2 books from a second-hand bookstore. They have got an amazing selection of books,
a couple of which were actually
recent publications. The walk to-and-fro King's Cross took about 25 mins or so.
After munching on the cheesemite I have gotten earlier, I went into a 1.5 hour snooze.
Lovely place I was provided with isn't it?
Despite of the lack of rest for the whole night, I was surprised to find myself hopping
around town with energy for shopping and sightseeing.
Further to that, I had enough reserved for dinner and sweets after!
How unbelievable was that!
Finally managed to catch up with Fiona babe!
Taking heaps of pictures to amuse ourselves while waiting for food to be served!
Great dining ambience, accompanied by equally high standards of food served! And we still had room for desserts! (We went to Pancakes on the Rocks, which had an astonishing long Q). Don't be misled by the desserts shown above. I actually had them from French Patisserie the next day.
Just stuffed them in this becos they so happened to fit.
Mouth-watering stuff from Pancakes on the Rocks! YUM!!!!
That's about all the photos for this time round. Will try to collate the rest soon! I just had so much catching up with work since I've been back!
